Blade construction: Hirazukuri, Iori-mune, Mihaba width and Kasane thickness on base are in average and blade is long with shallow curve. There is long Bo-hi groove in front and Koshi-hi shorter groove in reversed side, both are chiselled half way ending above habaki collar. Forging(Hada): Kitae is conspicuously well knead, generally Itame-hada and large Mokume burl grain mark which is ranging so called AYASUGI pattern. The entire skin shows whitish UTSURI reflect. It is entirely and splendidly active with conspicuous Mokume and Itame grain mark. Temper(Hamon): Hamon starts with YAKIOTOSHI-indication (temper starts from above Hamachi), straight suguha temper mixing in with small gunome and clove outline, upper the blade there shows Hotsure/Niji-ha (fray/double line temper) and Kinsen thick nie lines. In the interior of temper there works with frequent ASHI feet. The entire forging and temper filled in with an old good atmosphere. Temper of tip(Boshi): Boshi in front is irregularly tempered with Hakikake(bruising) end indication and the ura side is irregular frayed end. Tang(Nakago): UBU, Two mekugiana peg holes. KIRI horizontal filemarks. Round shape bottom heel. The signature on Hakiomote is two characters that reads YASU YUKI. In the Medieval Period, Kaifu province (now in Tokushima pref./Shikoku island), there were more than 60 sword smiths, who succeeded Yamato-school from Naminohira lineage in Satsuma province (kyushu island). There are recognized sword smiths such as TOU, MOROHISA, UJIYOSHI, YASUYOSHI, YASUNAGA, UJISHIGE and the subject smith [YASUYUKI]. Most of KAIFU smiths followed NAMINOHIRA forging technique so called [AYASUGI] style like this wakizashi. Their major demands had come from naval base. An authentic wakizashi koshirae consists of kashira black lacquered horn, Fuchi is shakudo Nanako-ji surface (gold iroe Kobuchi edges), menuki is RIHAKU motif shakudo Yobori gold Iroe, Kozuka is shakudo nanako-ji ground takabori gold/silver iroe Shells design, Tsuba is iron ground pail bottom shape edge (Shichiyo crests silver inlay) and Tsuka hilt with white ray-skin, white nickrack string lozenge wrapped. An original a pair of Seppa collars which is gold foiled and also original habaki collar of which upper layer is Sayagata style gold foiled and lower one silver foiled. New Shira-Saya plain wood mounting. This wakizashi is fresh polish and both blade and koshirae fittings remain extremely best and possible original condition.
