Sugata(configuration) : Shinogi-zukuri,Iori-mune. Mihaba is extremely wide, thick in Kasane and deep in curvature. Heavy on hand, solid construction and point is broad, showing a brave samurai spirit. There is round end Bo-hi grooves on both sides. Heroic wakizashi supplementary sword which holds an almost original shape during the passage of 450 years. Kitae(forging pattern) : Kitae-hada is conspicuous Itame-hada (wooden grain) and Mokume (burl marks) mixing in with the swelling masame hada pattern along cutting edge. Hiraji is covered in deep and speckled Ji-nie that generates reflecting irregular Yubashiri effect clearly over the surface. Hamon(tempering pattern) : Hamon forms irregular large gunome mixing in small gunome zigzag and choji-ha (clove out-line).Temper edge is covered in thick and vivid Nie and deep misty Nioi. There works with frequent Kinsuji (bright curved threadlike areas) and Sunagashi (streamslike blushing area). Tobiyaki temper spill over surface partially. The entire temper is full in Hitatsura, vividly bright and clear. Boshi (tip): The temper of the tip is Midarekomi irregular lines in full (Hitatsura). Nakago(tang) : UBU in original which holds an original clear file-mark Kattesagari slanting left with one mekugi-ana retaining hole. The signature in hakiomote is clearly chiselled, starting with the work of place [Kashu] and the smith name [KANENAGA-saku] on the shinogi surface. From the reference book of [Kozan Oshigata] 1709 (Houei 6), KANENAGA was active during Azuchi Momoyama period, in the last stage of Warning States period. On demand of brave Samurai warriors, sword shape became more durable and magnificent. The subject supplementary wakizashi holds an almost original shape over the warring states Azuchi Momoyama period before the Tokugawas came to power 1603. It's workmanship is hidden with magestic and awe-inspiring power. Among similar works of 16th c., this blade is a delight. Copper habaki with silver foiled collar, Shira-Saya Plain wood mounting.
