Blade construction : Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. Mihaba is wide and kasane is in average. There is sakizori curvature leading to middle Kissaki. On the hakiomote is carved a Fudo-myouou and Bonji and Ura is a realistic dragon curving.
Forging(Hada) : Hada is well kneaded Mokume and is rather conspicuous. Shinogi-ji is found Masame.
Temper(Hamon) : Hamon is covered in Ko-nie, gunome. The interior of temper is active with hazy ashi and sunagashi.
Tang(Nakago) : Nakago is in UBU, two ANA, Iriyama bottom shape and Sujikai filemarks. The signature on hakiomote is large two character that reads KANEKADO.
Temper of top(Boshi) : Boshi is wavy midarekomi and creates Jizou boshi.
Kanekado in Mino province was active during Tenbun period in 16th century. The whole shape is stout leading to broad kissaki and hamon is active with long ashi and sunagashi work. The horimono curving on both sides was elaborately made during Edo period. The entire blade was old polished and is very little tip off at the summit of Kissaki but it shall be removed away next chance when the blade is polished. Besides, there is no visible flaw and in good condition
Old koshirae fitting consists of black stone surface Japanese lacquered scabbard, Iron HOTEI motif takabori iroe inlay tuba and shakudo ground iroe Fuchi/Kashira and menuki ornament.
