Sugata(configuration) : Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune, Deep curvature which is center pointed, and is leading to a middle tip. The entire shape holds dignified Tachi style with well-proportioned curve. (click HERE for high resolution image)
Kitae(forging pattern) : Kitae is fine ko-itame and strongly forged entirely. Ji-nie glitter hard metal granules covers in hiraji-surface.
Hamon(tempering pattern) : Hamon is wide suguha straight based in general, mixing in with small komidare, small zigzag appears along temper line and YOU dots appear in the interior of temper.
Nakago(tang) : Unaltered(UBU). Round Kurijiri heel shape in full. One retaining hole. Katte-sagari filemarks. The signature in hakiura-side (Tachi-mei) is chiselled with the place of work [Chikuzen-ju] and signed with his real family name [Kajiwara] then the smith name [HIROMITSU]. Another side is the date of year [The 10 th month, 18 th year of Showa] A.D.1943.
Boshi(tip) : Front is straight indication with komidare with small circle then deeply turns back and the ura is irregular line with small circle turns back deeply.
His real name Kjiwara Rokusuke, smith name was HIROMITSU born in A.D.1893, lived in Fukumaru, Wakamiya town, Kurate-gun, Fukuoka pref. He had succeeded smith name from his father [Rokurou HIROMITSU] and learned from the smith [Sakurai Masatsugu] who was also a master of a living national treasure famed smith [SUMITANI MASAMINE]. This descent tachi holds an beautiful shape using fine steel which was possibly made by the special demand, quite hard to come across such a healthy blade that has been kept an original polish state. No flaws and in an excellent original condition.
