Blade construction : Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune, Shinogi ridge is high and shinogi area is shallow. No curvature.
Forging(Hada) : Hada is fine komokume covered in precise Ji-nie. Chikei activity is overflowing from an abyss of Jigane. Nie-utsuri reflects.
Hamon : Hamon is small gunome mixing in with Cho-ji ha,two or three gunomes group together. Entire habuchi is covered in uniform and puffy Ko-nie. There is Choji-ashi activity in the interior.
Temper of tip (Boshi) : Boshi clear waves with small circle turning back that generates Jizou-shape.
Tang(Nakago) : Nakago is in UBU. Osujikai and Kesho filemarks. Two ANA. The signature on hakiomote is unique character that read Tairyusai SOUKAN kore wo tsukuru and Hakiura is engraved the date of year Second month in the seventh year of Ansei (1860).
SOUKAN was a pupil of Koyama Munetsugu. He engaged for Furukawa-han in Shimousa province ever since he was 17 years old (Seventh year of Ansei) and made swords exclusively for his master. He added title "TAIRYUSAI" in the first year of Ansei and changed it's character to a unique REISHO-TAI style. This unique Katana would be made by a special demand for a Ninja or an assassin in Furukawa-han, from it's date of year, this is a work when SOUKAN was 42 years old. Entire blade and nakago was elaborately made and healthy.
