Sugata(configuration) : Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. Length is standard up to Two-shaku, three-sun. Mihaba on base and tip- both are moderate for common usage and refined tastes, shallow curve leading to a small tip. 
Kitae(forging pattern) : Kitae-hada is itame hada wooden grain mark generally mixing in with flawing stream marks. Sparkling glitter so called Ji-nie activity throughout Hiraji-surface that generates conspicuous Chikei scene (thick and darkish Nie hard metal lines).
Hamon(tempering pattern) : Hamon stars with shallow straight temper so called Kyo-style Yakidashi, and small zig-zag, sharpened up TOGARI-ha, then becomes tall clove outline like a pouch (Fukuro-Choji outlines), upper the blade, brighter, stronger the Nie, temper along upper Monouchi hitting area becomes long footed Clove outline (Ashinaga-Chojji), Sunagashi darkish Nie lines works across the feet clearly, vivid and filled in throbbing energy that resembles of Soshu-school works.
Boshi (tip): The temper of the tip is straight into KOMARU small circle.
Nakago(tang) : UBU original, Slanted left (o-sujikai) filemarks. Round-shape heel. The signature in hakiomote starts with Spray of Mum Crest upper of Mekugi-ana, the underneath, the signature is chiselled large seven character that reads Oumi-no-kami Minamoto HISAMICHI.
The subject katana, assumed an article made to order using a fine steel, well-balanced, refined style, holding a grace of spirits, whereas the temper holds proudly vigorous style under Soshu-school. The subject artisan Hisamichi, third generation in Kyoto (Yamashiro) had accepted an invitation from Shogun 8th Tokugawa Yoshimune visited to Edo and re-produced the masterpiece [Konotegashiwa sword] in Mihama Palace also made a masterpiece [Wakasa-MASAMUNE] exclusively for Shogun YOSHIMUNE. The subject sword shows lively his Soshu-style technique and his characteristics are fully revealed in this sword.
In view of nakago, good taste of patina, no marks of decayed and highlight is it's Spray of Mum Crest, his typical signature and the date of year adds the historical value as well.
The koshirae
consists of brown stone surface sheath, Fuchi/kashira steel ground. Autumn flowers gold/silver takabori inlay, Menuki Shakudo ground, Yobori Leo gold Iroe inlay, Tsuba iron ground brass inlay Musashi-no/stirrup, and the hilt is whit lay-skin, light blue lozenge silk cord wrap.
